Graves 601 Minneapolis

Though it’s only been open for a few years, Graves 601 is already a Twin Cities icon.  The chic, tower hotel, located in a revitalized entertainment district, is known for its ultra-cool-yet-accessible clubs and its art + tech rooms, which join stellar design and high function to make them the best in Minneapolis.  From the lobby to the penthouse, clean lines, dramatic surfaces, and low light, make Graves 601 both super hip and very inviting.  Plus, it’s reasonably affordable luxury.
Hotel guest rooms are a little smaller than one might expect, but what is lacking in quantity is doubly repaid in quality.  Designer bathrooms are crammed with amenities, including a full bar of Hermes soap (retail value $20) and a sexy steam shower, and the main room includes a posh sitting area and a bed that can only be described as rapture.

The only drawback to these fantastic rooms is the lighting, which should certainly be soft and glowing and on a dimmer but which is mostly carefully disguised florescent.

Must-dos:

Sleep in very, very late and order up some room service in the morning, so you can enjoy the paradise of sumptuous sheets and decadent down that is your bed.

At least poke your head into Cosmos, a hot spot for celebrities who visit Minneapolis on tour.
